MTV Magnetic testing rod
The magnetic testing rod is equipped with extremely strong neodymium magnets hermetically sealed in a stainless housing.
Advantages
Magnetic collecting and testing rods are used e. g. for sampling of raw materials, verifying the efficiency of magnetic separation (prior to and after the separation), collecting of iron chips and particles in hard-to-reach places etc. If the control rods are used at scrap yards, the risk of cheating (based on the addition of ferromagnetic materials into re-purchased precious non-ferrous metals) is eliminated. The testing rods can also detect fine ferromagnetic contaminants in plastic materials (like crushed plastics, plastic granulate etc.). Therefore, they are also used to detect ferrous contamination during inspection of e. g. granulated and crushed plastics.
Cleaning mode
The magnetic rod are cleaned by sliding the magnet core out of the protective tube. Iron contaminants (held on the tubes' surface by the magnetic field) fall off spontaneously.
Dimensions of testing rods
We supply magnetic test rods in lengths of 400 and 1,100 mm and in diameters of 25 and 32 mm; the magnetic core itself is always 160 mm long.
